Hello, I'd like to bring to your attention to a monthly event that has been very successful already in the past months. The fine folks of FARS have put on a monthly happening called Amateur Radio Technology Day at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center Cafeteria. This event used to be called Ham Day in 2004 when it was held at the Baylands Park in Sunnyvale. The next event will be held next Saturday, April 2nd 2005, from 8am to 9pm, rain or shine. The site is really great, it has ample space to set up antennas for HF QRP and QRO, a BBQ pit and fridge (bring your own food), outdoor and indoor seating, and of course you meet lots of your fellow hams. My favorite experience was to see and share homebrew gear. Typically there is a featured speaker or session each time, next Saturday it will be about finding interference and finding hidden transmitters. For more information, please visit the FARS web site at http://www.fars.k6ya.org/events/amtechday.shtml and please make sure you read all the safety instructions in the paragraph 'Bring your own gear' if you plan to bring your own equipment as SLAC has some special safety rules we need to follow. You need to show photo ID at the gate security to enter the SLAC campus. 73, andreas de K6OTT +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SARES members mailing list: <sares-list@sunnyvaleares.org> For help with (un)subscription send e-mail to <majordomo@athm.net>Received on Mon Mar 28 18:59:05 2005
