The Dec. 6th issue of PC Magazine had a short blurb (pg 25, Pipeline) about "Net Over Power Lines", which is all positive :-(. They reference COMTek's "good" implementation in Manassas Virginia, without mentioning the massive RF interference experienced there. Here is my e-mail to the editor: "Net Over Power Lines In the Dec 6, Pipeline, Mr. Quain failed to point out that the Manassas, Virginia, COMTek BPL implementation, radiated massive spurious radio frequency emissions, disrupting communications in the area. Some of this interference is disrupting the armature bands that have proved so vital in times of catastrophic emergency, such as the recent Gulf Coast hurricane disasters (reference John Dvorak’s Nov. 8 column ). It would seem that COMTek needs to go back to the drawing board." Cheers, Phil Stewart, KF6ZYT --------------------------------- Yahoo! Shopping Find Great Deals on Holiday Gifts at Yahoo!
