Works fine with a wireless - B (original 11MBPS) adapter also. I find that I must "register" with a street address (it doesn't like mine -- says that I am 50 feet out-of-bounds) one street over. I have done DSLReports speed tests -- it is 1/10 of my comcast speed (MetroFi is about 250K upload, 30K download -- still quite reasonable). But I have to log in each session -- and I'm a bit nervous about doing everything over an open connection. I'll keep my Comcast (and WEP-encrypted wireless) for now -- but I also have the MetroFi broadcast through my house (weak original signal -- see above) to play with. - Skip AA6WK _____ From: owner-sares-list@athm.net [mailto:owner-sares-list@athm.net] On Behalf Of P. You may have noticed Metro-fi's transponders sprouting up on Sunnyvale's street light poles. All it takes to access Metro-fi's service is a wireless-G network adapter (either a pc-card or a USB plug-in). I have been using a Linksys USB version (model WUSB54G, available at Best Buy for $40 after rebates) for about a week now with WOW! Speeds and no problems. Metro-Fi's web address is www.metrofi.com.
