Attached (I hope) is the current suffix list of SARES members. I am providing this list to all with the hope it will encourage members to take on a net or two in the future. There are net scripts on our website http://www.sunnyvaleares.org/ . The net scripts are listed third on the left side of the page or the link is http://www.sunnyvaleares.org/nets.html . I know that if you have never handled a net control assignment it can seem like a daunting task, been there - done that. A number of years ago DEC Larry Carr asked me to participate at county in a quarterly drill. It was my first drill ever, and first time at the county ARES/RACES room. Larry put me in the position of Resource Net Control for the county drill traffic. I grabbed the mic with shaking hands and headed off into unexplored country. As the drill came to an end, I was disappointed because it was really fun running the net. I know, first hand, what you might be feeling, come on in - the airwaves are great. Other ARES/RACES groups have ASSIGNED net control dates for their members, this is a last resort for me, IF!!!!! The "IF" is that members should volunteer - we have just a few that are willing to volunteer for net duties, we need more. Please remember, if you have experience as net control, you could be considered for working a net in the EOC (no guarantee), but if you do not have net control experience you cannot be considered for EOC work and will be assigned to the field. -- Bob, KG6MOL +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SARES members mailing list: <sares-list@sunnyvaleares.org> For help with (un)subscription send e-mail to <majordomo@athm.net>
