Santa Clara County Sheriff's Search and Rescue was formed in 1989 to assist city, county, state and federal agencies in times of emergency. The Team is part of the Special Operations Division of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department. Our members are all dedicated volunteers, who are highly trained to effect successful SAR operations. Our service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. The team is based in San Jose and directly serves the cities and unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County.

Program team pagers

 

Progra! m team radios

 

Help with the team call-out/dispatch process

 

Work communications in the command post during searches

 

Maintain a relationship with County Communications

 

 

Requirements / Background

Have a background in radio communications technology and / or radio dispatch

 

Be able to pass the Sheriff’s Office background check

 

Be extra trustworthy, as you will need to deal with county frequencies and radios

 

Be able to attend at least one meeting per month

 

Be at least 18 years of age
