Below you will find the just released drill information. Upon reviewing this info, it appears that we do not need to be in the field for this exercise. A couple of AECs will be operating from the radio room at Public Safety Hqs. We will SIMULATE deployments to various locations in the city, we will SIMULATE damage info reports (including SNAP messages). This should give you an idea of what we will be doing, hope you can join us at 2 PM. *Please send me an e-mail ( pafidt@rawbw.com ) if you plan on participating.* Bob Gundrum, KG6MOL EC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< As most of you are probably aware, we are holding the County ARES/RACES drill this Saturday the 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. It will be an earthquake scenario, but with a twist. When you "feel" the earth move at two o'clock, call the County Resource net on 146.115 MHz, positive offset and a PL of 100 Hz, and check in just as if it was the real thing. You could even give damage reports, if you can "see" damage from your shack. You can do this from home, or where ever you happen to be. When a city has activated, the EC should notify County on the message net, W6PI, 147.36, positive offset and a PL of 110.9 Hz. Once you've checked in and your city has told us that they're open for business, County will send you to your city's ARES/RACES frequency where your EC can give you further instructions. As you can see, we are trying to exercise the resource net this time. We have some good operators at County ARES/RACES, but we need the workout, too. Give us your best shot!
