Attached below is a request from Monterey County for Ham Radio Operators for a non-emergency event. If you would like to participate, please advise me and contact ~ Rick Lagerstrom - kn6fr@westlog.com <mailto:kn6fr@westlog.com> directly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A special thanks to those, within the ARRL Santa Clara Valley Section, that supported our recent "back country" emergency / health and welfare communications at the 16th Annual Sea Otter Classic (SOC) by answering my "recruiting" e-mail. You "made us all proud!" At present Rick Lagerstrom - kn6fr@westlog.com <mailto:kn6fr@westlog.com>, Hm: (831) 394-2347, cell: (831) 917-3033 desperately needs more operators to provide communications for the BSIM. You will be parked "out of the way" of the runners, receive a detailed informational packet of material, have an outstanding vantage point to view the marathon along with a terrific view of the Big Sur Coast line and receive an event tee shirt. But the best reward is the knowledge you will receive as a great functional field exercise of your radios, antennas and operating skills. If you have a less experienced ham that needs to get their communications "feet wet," with an event, double up with them and provide the mentoring and experience necessary to help them to feel comfortable operating. Please contact Rick, at your earliest convenience, and download a volunteer form at: westlog.com. Except for the 5K event all the other events are "sold out." Thanks for helping Rick and the marathon runners out with your volunteering. 73 Bob Spencer / W6HMC ACSO Chief RACES Officer Monterey OPS Area Office of Emergency Services +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SARES members mailing list: <sares-list@sunnyvaleares.org> For help with (un)subscription send e-mail to <majordomo@athm.net>Received on Wed Apr 19 14:22:30 2006
