The City of Sunnyvale will be conducting an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) exercise from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Thursday, June 1 at Public Safety Headquarters. Last year we had 4 SARES members participate. At this point we do not know the SARES staffing level that will be requested. This will be a great time for members to not only participate, but to also observe what goes on in an EOC activation. OH, I forgot to mention ~last year a great lunch was also provided. Our assignments last year involved 2 members in the radio room to send & receive messages (packet) to county EOC, 1 member in the simulator area to send scripted messages to the EOC, and 1 member in the EOC to receive messages from the simulator & radio room. If you would like to participate on June 1, please let me know by return e-mail. Also please mark your calendar for a county wide exercise on Saturday, Sept. 30 to be held at Sunnyvale Baylands Park. I will provide additional information as is known.
