Recently a SARES member attempted to reserve a City of Sunnyvale
facility as a SARES function and using the Dept. of Public Safety
issued ID card for identification.
OBTAINING ANY
SERVICE USING "SARES" AS THE SPONSOR IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN, UNLESS,
FIRST APPROVED BY THE EMERGENCY COORDINATOR; OR THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE,
DEPT. OF PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES.
In the recent incident the OES office was contacted to confirm that
the function was in fact an official SARES event. Since the OES office
was not aware, I was contacted and also had no knowledge of the event.
The OES office is willing to assist in the obtaining the use of City of
Sunnyvale facilities for sanctioned SARES related events.
