Dear SARES group, My 88 year old Father, Tom Monahan, has become very ill and will no longer be able to maintain all the old electronic equipment that he has been acquiring since my childhood. I can't even describe what half of the equipment is for and whether it would be of any use to anyone. It does not include ham equipment, other than lots of receivers. My Dad would always fall asleep with a headset on and hams talking from around the world in his ears. He always wanted to be a ham, but his dyslexia made it very hard for him to pass the test, (though he was a communications man in the Navy and learned Morse code.) He was very proud when I became a ham and was able to talk to him on the radio, though he could never respond. This Friday afternoon, Aug 11th, my husband Don (KD6QQR) and I (KB6VLK) will be going over to Capitola to clear out his bedroom of a very large amount of equipment. I will be throwing it away unless anyone wants to come over and claim any of it for free. If you are interested, please give me a call for directions to my Dad's house. If anyone knows of a place to properly dispose of old electronic equipment, I would appreciate that information, too. Pass this onto any of your ham friends you think might be interested. Sincerely, Pat Jocius, KB6VLK 408 730-8939 pat@patjocius.com . +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SARES members mailing list: For help with (un)subscription send e-mail to +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SARES members mailing list: <sares-list@sunnyvaleares.org> For help with (un)subscription send e-mail to <majordomo@athm.net>Received on Thu Aug 10 04:25:56 2006
