All,
On Saturday, Oct. 21 (SHINE or rain) there will be a Santa Clara
County ARES / RACES, Mutual Aid Communicator (MAC) training exercise.
This exercise will be at Raynor Park (scene of our Field Day) and is
designed to prepare MACs (and perspective MACs) for what they might
expect if deployed to a neighboring agency. The areas to be covered
include: #1~Sign-in & receiving assignment, #2~Go-Kit,
#3~Comm-On-A-Net, #4~Comm Field Station, #5~Planning Response Scenarios,
#6~Safety, and #7~Interaction With Served Agency. Sign-in will begin at
0800 hrs with the training rotations beginning at 0830. The exercise is
scheduled to be completed at 1200 hrs when we have a BYOL (Bring Your
Own Lunch) and any show & tell.

I strongly encourage all SARES MACs to participate as well as invite
ANY SARES member who thinks they might be interested in becoming a
Mutual Aid Communicator. All that is asked is that you notify District
Emergency Coordinator (DEC) Larry Carr < lwcarr@alum.MIT.edu > and copy
me of your intention to attend. Larry needs the info for material prep,
I would like the info for our records.

I am also looking for one or two SARES members who would be willing
to volunteer to assist me with the Sign-in (and sign-out) portion of the
exercise. If you are willing to assist me, please let me know.
