Upcoming training for those MACs (Mutual Aid Communicator) or those interested in becoming a MAC. If you attend, please advise me via e-mail for record keeping. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Scc-ec] Communications During Chaos Class Date: Sat, 3 Mar 2007 10:47:53 -0800 From: Larry Carr <lwcarr@INTERNET. alum.MIT.edu> To: sccec <scc-ec@INTERNET. svpal.org> Come to the "Communicating during Chaos" class that we will be giving to MACs and those who want to become MACs. The class is next Saturday morning, March 10, in the Auditorium at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's building, 55 W. Younger, San Jose. Coffee will be served. I know that most of you have done shadowing for parades, bike rides, and other public service events. However, the task of shadowing during emergencies takes on a whole new form. For instance, you must also focus on communications for your "shadowee" while at the same time watching over your own safety in a potentially dangerous situation . Some of the titles we considered for this training will give you an idea why you should come to the class - "Surviving an Operational Period with an Official From a Served Agency"; "Communicating in Emergency Situations"; "Field Communications Under Fire"; "How to Recognize Dangerous Situations While in the Field". If you can attend, look for the Shadow Class on our web site www.scc-ares.races.org and follow that link to register for the class. I know I am interested - hope I see you there! Questions?
