    Believe that I have sent this info earlier, but due to a request by 
Larry Carr, here it is again.  I suggest that any member interested in 
what is happening in the ARES / RACES community in Santa Clara County 
join this group.

Please make sure that all hams in your city know about the MAC Yahoo group - 
I have learned that several hams, both MACs and those who want to become 
MACs, have not yet signed up with the group, and therefore missed the 
information that was sent out about the MAC drill.

Please direct all hams who have not yet joined to follow the instructions 
below and join soon.

To all MACs and those who would like to be MACs:

A new e-mail list has been created specifically for Mutual Aid Communicators 
(MACs) in Santa Clara County. If you are currently a MAC or are interested 
in becoming a MAC, then you are encouraged to join this list. The purpose of 
this list is to provide an avenue for SCCo ARES/RACES to share information, 
such as training dates, drill information, and other items (literature or 
web links) relevant to the MAC program.

ECs and AECs: please forward this e-mail to the MACs and MAC candidates in 
your city.

Joining the list is a three-step process:

1.  From your e-mail account, send an e-mail to 
scc-races-macs-subscribe@INTERNET. yahoo.com The text in your email is not important - 
for instance, you can simply say "I am applying".

2.  Within 24 hours, you will get an e-mail asking you to confirm your 
request. This e-mail will ask for some basic information about you (the 
questions are below)

3.  Reply to this e-mail and answer the questions. When your reply is 
received, you will be added to the list.

You do not have to be a Yahoo member to join this group. Simply send an 
e-mail from the e-mail account where you want MAC-related messages to be 
delivered.


Below is a sample of the email requesting confirmation that will be sent in 
step 2 above

Do not send the answers to the questions (below) in step 1 - YahooGroups 
will ignore the information. Wait for the confirmation e-mail in step 2.
