All, *PLEASE read carefully* During our meeting we discussed several topics. #1 - The one of most interest to the membership is the Tuesday evening Net Control (NC). The decision of the leadership group is that the NC position will be assigned on a monthly rotation basis to the EC / AECs, with the first Tuesday of each month to be handled by a member (non EC / AEC). The rotation will be on an 11 month cycle, Phil does the Monday NC - therefore exempt for Tuesday. The EC / AEC that is unable to meet their NC assignment is required to contact a member to fulfill the assignment for the particular NC. The rotation will begin on June 1, 2007, the Monday NC will confirm with the responsible NC operator for Tuesday evening. Tuesday NC is as follows: Jun - Bob - KG6MOL Jul - Howard - N6HM Aug - Andreas - K6OTT Sep - Ralf - WA6CQA Oct - Dewey - KG6AM Nov - Neal - WA6OCP Dec - Rick - KG6KZV 2008 Jan - Skip - AA3WK Feb - Roger - AA3AP Mar - James - N6YB Apr - Joe - KE6YHI May - BACK TO TOP #2 - SARES Emergency Procedure Manual. The manual was reviewed and a few minor adjustments are required. Training for the members will be at the next quarterly meeting - Wednesday, June 27 in the training room of the Department of Public Safety. The manual has gone thru a years long revision process and is completed at long last. The effective date of this new manual will be 1 July, 2007, as a new procedure. The manual has been created in a manor that will allow for revision of individual sections as opposed to revising the whole manual. The Emergency Procedure Manual is considered a living document. During the rewrite process we were given a copy of: "Communicator' Handbook - A simple and practical introduction to public service and emergency communications". The second edition is dated March 30, 1944 and was written by a group of former & current SARES members led by George Hopkins ~K6GL~, 95% of the information contained is still germane to our operation. This manual will also be re-issued at the June meeting. #3 - We discussed completing the EOC radio room. We must design & build our operating positions. The AECs will be working on this project and contacting members as needed for additional assistance. #4 - SARES has been given a 2 meter high level repeater, repeater site with power provided - THATS the good news. Checking with NARCC for a repeater frequency pair has come up with negative results - THATS the bad news. In other words there are no known available repeater pairs in the SF Bay area. Further research is needed.
