[SARES] Packet Training

During our last quarterly meeting the membership indicated they
would like training on Packet. Yesterday at the Santa Clara County ARES
/ RACES class I was quite impressed with the presentation (matter of
fact I can now spell P-A-C-K-E-T :-) ). The class was scheduled for
3 hours, but ran to 3½ hours and ended because folks had things to do
for the balance of the day. The trainer was Jim Clark, Los Altos AEC,
who is willing to give a class to SARES.

My idea for SARES training is to have it after the first of the year
and have it be an "open ended" class as far as time is concerned. (read
longer than 3 hours) Santa Clara County agencies use packet for the
transmission of various forms from cities to the county EOC. Therefore
this class would actually be a double class - Packet and Pac-forms (the
name of the program containing the forms). The Pac-forms have been
created by Phil Henderson, MTV AEC, he & Jim are discussing team
teaching the whole program. I would like SARES to be a group for them
to team teach the WHOLE system.

After all of the above, what I am looking for is a count of members
that would be interested in spending time on a Saturday (total hours
unknown for sure) after the first of the year to learn Packet & Pac-forms?
