Although you don't say specifically, an earlier message said "Thanksgiving weekend".

So I assume that "Saturday" is the 24th and not today (17th).

  Subject: [SARES] Repeater Meeting

Well it looks like Saturday is the most popular day for the meeting. It will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 783 Lakewood Dr, 0.4 miles west of Lawrence Expy (exit between Lakehaven & Hwy 101 - TB Map 812-H-5). This meeting is to make a final decision on how we handle the repeater, with Garlic Valley ARC or without Garlic Valley ARC. I am including the "proposal" below submitted by Brian Woodson as a starting point for our discussions.

Bob,
I have had time to think about your proposal. I think we need more
discussion. If I understand your proposal you are proposing the following:

Trustee: Bob Grundrum ? GGF????
Call Sign: W6SNY ?? Could we make it neutral
Rent: $500.00 paid by W6GGF
Insurance: ?? paid by SARES
Maintenance: ??
Control Operators: One representative from each club - SARES and W6GGF
Repeater Upgrades: Who pays?
Repeater Repairs: Who pays?
Ownership: SARES 50% W6GGF 50% ?????

If this is a joint venture then we should make the equity 50/50. This means
both clubs pay equal amounts for all the above. So you really want to use
W6SNY? I guess GGF has no say so? What about K6SCV? There is another club
in the area that has W6SCV. Wouldn't that be more a more neutral call sign.
We are not listed as being afiliated with the ARRL in there database. I
think to join we need to abide by there rules or doctrine. I think the
thing that caught my eye was 50% of the club members must be members of
ARRL. I am a life member already.

The W6AMT repeater does not have an emergency dc power supply. It is
relying on the site generator which does not meet the criteria for an
emergency repeater. You can not rely upon the site generator in an
emergency situation. Eventually cycling power like that will take its toll
on the system. (My thoughts) Again whoi will pay for this upgrade. The
RC-850 controller is not longer available (ACC) is out of business. This
needs to be upgraded eventually. I will not be able to tell the condition
of the repeater without looking at it and getting the past history of the
repeater. Is there a phone line attached this repeater? If not it then must
be able to be controlled over the air. If there is a phone line who pays
for the line? Re-occurring cost?

Lastly what will the W6GGF benefit from the is joint venture besides having
a repeater that can be reached from South County. We can use WB6ZVW also.
========================================================================================================

Here is what I understand about the repeater.

- GE Mastr Exec II from MCC on 440
- Phelps Dodge (Cellwave) duplexer
- Mirage 80w repeater amp
- ACC RC-85 controller
- Motorola squelch circuit

Currently the repeater is DEAF and this could be any thing in the receive
chain Ant - pigtail - coax - preamp (not sure if it has one) - radio. Since
this repeater has been on the air for a while there are some known issues
with the GE Master Exec II that appear over time.
