ALL, After reading the ARRL info on the California Hands Free law, I checked the CHP - FAQs and could not find a definitive answer. Therefore the question was posed to the person named on the FAQs, turned out to be the Commander, Office of Media Relations, California Highway Patrol. I would be remiss if I didn't urge you to drive carefully while operating your amateur radio, but amateur radios are not covered by the new laws, unless they are also wireless telephones.
