Attached are photos of the tower sections and beam parts that I mentioned on today's net. All the material is located on a patio located at the Hewlett-Packard facility just off of Wolfe Road between Pruneridge and Homestead. First come, first served. If not picked up / donated in the next day or so, it will all be scrapped. Contact Curt Kolovson 408 447 0844 or Dale McAtee 408 873 5714 for location detail. I will be out of the office for the next two days. - Skip AA6WK From: La Fetra, Skip Sent: Monday, June 23, 2008 2:40 PM To: Kolovson, Curt Cc: HP Silicon Valley Radio Club Subject: RE: Ham Radio Antenna Located at Building 42 Patio... I walked past the Building 42 patio today over noontime. The antennas and tower are still there, but undoubtedly won't be around much longer. Photos attached. Curt, do you want to ping the other club again, or do think that we should give up on them? - Skip From: Vargas, John (hp.com) Sent: Monday, June 23, 2008 9:04 AM To: La Fetra, Skip; Kolovson, Curt Cc: HP Silicon Valley Radio Club Subject: RE: Ham Radio Antenna Located at Building 42 Patio... Randy: Thanks very much for your support and accommodation. Unfortunately, I have not seen much (any) action by the ham group that wanted the tower and beam. Although hard to find homes for, this is valuable amateur (ham) radio equipment and I thank you for trying to avoid it being scrapped. Although it may not be noticed in the amount of "sky-grade aluminum" on the ground in the 42L patio, we were able to find a good home for a key antenna (the 40-meter rotatable dipole). Your largesse -- although perhaps not visible to an outsider -- made a big contribution to keeping this valuable piece of equipment in service rather than being scrapped. Thank you. - Skip La Fetra Software Applications Manager HP Consumer PC R&D Secretary, HP Silicon Valley Radio Club From: Garcia, Randy (REWS) Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 2008 9:18 AM To: Kolovson, Curt Cc: HP Silicon Valley Radio Club Subject: RE: Ham Radio Antenna Located at Building 42 Patio... Hi Curt...I haven't been out to the 42 patio for awhile but I wanted to check in with you on how things are going or how they went with the antenna. Hi Randy, Thanks very much for contacting me about the antenna. I believe that we do want to keep this antenna and tower. I will check with the club and we will respond ASAP. How soon do you need it removed? Thanks, Curt ________________________________ From: Garcia, Randy (REWS) Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2008 11:04 AM To: Kolovson, Curt Subject: Ham Radio Antenna Located at Building 42 Patio... Hello Curt, I'm working on the Building 42 Ramp-up, we will be working on the patios soon and I noticed the Ham Radio Antenna near the entrance of door 42-4...I was told that you may have an idea of the planned disposition of the antenna, are you interested or can we recycle it?
